Someone traded in this fairly clean 1997 Intrepid. Outside of a few cosmetic issues I don’t think I’ve seen one this straight in about 15 years. I’m glad someone out there is keeping up with these old Cab Forward cars.

oooo cool color
I also like how they used a longitudinal V6. Those valve cover gaskets look easy to replace
th
e column shift is nice too

I really don’t understand why they did a longitudinal FF layout. Is it just easier packaging with a V6?
It’s also funny that modern cars make these look like they had long hoods, considering the marketing. I guess it was novel at the time.

I dig the color. I don’t think I’ve seen once of those at all outside of the Midwest in the last 10+ years.

The LH platform is a rework of an old platform that dates back to Renault and AMC (the Dodge Monaco and Eagle Premier). It was also supposed to have AWD available
There were quite a few longitudinal FF cars out at the time, and in particular, Honda made a lot of them. The second-gen Legend and first-gen RL, Vigor and first-gen TL. Except the Vigor, they used a 90-degree V6, which is notable because it wasn’t based off any V8. And of course, Audi’s lineup is mostly longitudinal FF/AWD
Subaru’s boxer engines are longitudinal
as well.

My dad had one of those in a darker shade of green. It was a company car, and I was sad when they took it back.

I would love to build a crazy stance car or if a Chrysler cab forward car. A Sebring vert is on the top of the list. A 300m is the runner up.

VW/Audi also is a fan of the longitudinal FF.

Always liked the sleek styling of these. I bet the visibility is great too.
